(Tuesday, April 9, 2019) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren invites residents to the Five Star Bank Celebrate City Living Housing Expo, to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13 at Sibley Square, 250 E. Main St., Downtown. The expo is a resource fair for households interested in living in the city of Rochester to meet with representatives of city neighborhoods, real estate agents, lenders and non-profit agencies. Attendees can ask about neighborhood amenities, grant programs, arts and cultural activities to help them make the best choice for their families.
“Celebrate City Living is a one-stop-shop to find the perfect home in the perfect Rochester neighborhood,” said Mayor Warren. “This year, we are proud to host the event at Sibley Square to highlight the budding vibrancy of Downtown’s residential neighborhoods. People want to be part of Rochester’s resurgence and they know that city living is wonderful. By choosing the city, they can become active partners in our mission to create more jobs, safer, more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities. The Celebrate City Living Housing Expo also features bus tours of city neighborhoods. Tours depart from the Expo at 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., April 23 and last approximately two hours. The April 13 Expo is a component of the larger, year-round Celebrate City Living program which is designed to encourage city residency for consumers at every stage of the housing search, including renters, first-time homebuyers, experienced owners, those who require financial assistance and those seeking high-end spaces.
Celebrate City Living places a special emphasis on the distinctive settings and wide variety of housing choices in each of Rochester’s neighborhoods with a goal of helping consumers quickly focus their search for an ideal home by learning about the characteristics and amenities of each neighborhood.
Visitors to www.CelebrateCityLiving.com can search for a house or apartment from among 34 distinct city neighborhoods and be connected with resources such as real estate agents, lenders and non-profit agencies specializing in city housing. The website features a custom search engine that filters available housing choices by neighborhood along with profiles of each of the neighborhoods. The site also has an interactive social media center that enables residents and merchants to submit events to a community calendar.
