(Wednesday, June 19, 2019) – The City of Rochester has postponed the opening of Durand Eastman Beach for swimming due to high water levels. The swim season was originally scheduled to begin at Durand Eastman on June 23, 2019. The new opening date will be announced once water levels have receded to an acceptable point that is safe for swimmers.
Residents and visitors are still welcome to enjoy the beach as long as they do not enter the water.
