The Gus Macker Tournament, said to be the largest, longest-running 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world, takes place June 29 – 30 at the Downtown Riverside Festival site (located at the corner of Exchange Boulevard and Court Street, across from the Blue Cross Arena).
“This is a great opportunity for youth and adults from Rochester and across the region to experience our beautiful city while showing off their skills on the court,” said Mayor Lovely A. Warren. “I’d like to thank our partners at 103.9 WDKX and Wegmans for helping to make this event a reality. Quality of life programs and healthy activities such as this tournament are key to creating safer and more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities for our residents.”
Presenting sponsors for the event include the City of Rochester, 103.9 WDKX and Wegmans. All proceeds from the Gus Macker Tournament will support local youth sports programs through the Rochester Youth Sports Foundation.
Athletes and spectators will enjoy a full weekend of family-friendly activities, including a youth talent showcase, bounce houses, fun challenges and the highly coveted dunk contest.
