Motorist Advisory

(Thursday, December 5, 2019) – The Lighting of the Liberty Pole and family parade to the City of Rochester Roc Holiday Village at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park will take place on Saturday, December 7. The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Liberty Pole (the corner of E. Main Street and Franklin Street).

After the Liberty Pole is lit, families will join in a festive street parade that will start at Franklin Street and proceed east on East Avenue, south on Broadway, and west onto Court Street to end at Roc Holiday Village. The parade will briefly affect traffic along this route from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be no shuttles this year to transport people from parking garages to the Roc Holiday Village.

In addition to the traffic interruptions during the parade, the following streets will be closed on Saturday in preparation for the event:
• Court Street from Chestnut Street to the traffic circle from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Franklin Street from Main Street to Pleasant Street from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
