Breck Street Improvement Project

Breck Street is located in the Southeast quadrant of the City between Palmer Street and Herkimer Street. The project will includes the following streets:
  • Palmer Street (East Main Street to Breck Street)
  • Breck Street (Palmer Street to Herkimer Street) 

The project as a whole is nearly ½ mile (approximately 2,300 feet) in length and will include the following improvements:
  • New granite curbing with underdrain system
  • New driveway aprons to legal driveways; driveway apron removals to illegal driveways and vacant parcels
  • Removal of carriage walks to properties with driveways; replacement/installation of carriage walks to properties without driveways
  • Drainage improvements to include new catch basin installations
  • Some relocations of existing light poles on Breck Street
  • Hazardous and asphalt covered sidewalk replacements
  • Tree removal due to poor condition (92 & 155 Breck St); replacement trees to be installed
  • Restoration of all disturbed areas affected by the construction
  • Existing alternate side parking regulations will remain

Utility work will be completed ahead of the project by private utilities (RG&E, Spectrum, Frontier, etc.). Water Bureau is in the process of replacing lead service lines ahead of the project. They will also clean and line the water main on Breck Street once all of the lead service line replacement are completed. All water work shall be completed in June 2020 ahead of the Street Construction.

City Street Design is working closely with property owners in preparation of the design plans for construction.
