News Release - ROCmusic to Offer Music Instruction Online

City of Rochester

News Release

(Tuesday, March 31, 2020) – Beginning April 1, 2020, ROCmusic will offer both group and individual music classes online. The group classes will serve as a gathering point for the ROCmusic community and will also teach students how to play popular music from the radio and internet.

In addition, ROCmusic will offer 30 - 60 minute individual lessons to over 100 students across a variety of platforms. ROCmusic teachers have developed a series of video play-alongs and warm-up classes for the students, which can be accessed on the ROCmusic secure website. The classes will help prepare the students for ROCmusic’s online recital on April 15.

The ROCmusic Collaborative is a music education program that provides tuition-free instrumental music instruction to city students.
