City of Rochester News Release
(Thursday, April 23, 2020) - This evening, Muslims begin
thirty days of fasting and prayer during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan
inspires believers to serve humanity through the guidance of the Holy Quran and
by honoring the virtues of spiritual reflection, charity, self-sacrifice and
peace.
The principals and virtues of Ramadan can serve as guidance
for all, binding us together in harmony and in love as one human family.
On behalf of my husband Tim, my daughter Taylor, and the
City of Rochester, I bid the Muslim brothers and sisters in our community and
all around the world a beautiful and blessed Ramadan. May God’s peace be unto
you.
Ramadan Mubarak!
