Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County

News Release

(Thursday, May 14, 2020) – Beginning Monday, May 18, the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County will begin offering more MiFi mobile hotspot units and contactless curbside pickup of library materials. These services are available for any library card holder who needs internet access at home or would like to borrow physical library materials, such as books and DVDs.

Patrons can call (585) 428-7300 to request materials for pickup. Library staff will locate the desired items and schedule a pick-up date and time that will take place between the hours of 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Patrons are asked to arrive promptly at their scheduled appointment time to help maintain proper social distancing.

When arriving for scheduled pickups, patrons are asked to park along the Broad Street side of the Bausch and Lomb Library Building. If Broad Street parking is unavailable, parking will be available on Bausch and Lomb Way. Patrons should enter the library from the Broad Street side entrance, show their ID to staff, pick up the reserved materials and immediately exit the building. Library staff will sanitize all contact surfaces between scheduled pickups to help keep our community safe.

Items available for pickup may be limited. As a reminder, the Rochester Public Libraries are not accepting returns or donations at this time. Patrons are asked to keep library materials at home until the libraries are able to re-open after the COVID crisis.
