News Release Finance, NBD Departments to Expand Customer Service Hours Monday

(Friday, July 17, 2020) – The Departments of Finance and Neighborhood and Business Development will expand their hours for in-person customer service operations to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, starting Monday, July 20.
The self-service drop boxes at City Hall, 30 Church St. and the Neighborhood Service Centers remain in operation. Other services continue to be available online at cityofrochester.gov.

Visitors to City facilities will be required to adhere to State and County social distancing guidelines. Customers may experience delays entering buildings due to health and safety precautions. Entering and exiting City Hall is limited to the Link Entrance on Fitzhugh Street.

Finance Department

The Treasury Bureau will collect payments for taxes and water and refuse fees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at City Hall. The Assessment Bureau will also expand its hours to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at City Hall. Appointments are encouraged. The Traffic Violations Agency (TVA), 200 E. Main St., will be open for walk-in customers, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Starting the week of Aug. 3, the TVA will resume trials from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Bureau of Parking and Municipal Code Violations, 200 E. Main St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Also, beginning Monday, July 20, Parking and Municipal Code adjudication hearings will be held in person, by appointment. 

The City resumed its fee schedule for on-street parking and parking garages on July 1.

Department of Neighborhood and Business Development (NBD)

The Department of Neighborhood and Business Development Permit Office will expand its hours to 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for walk-in service and by appointment, providing application forms for grants and permits related to operating a business, construction, home repairs and licensed trades. Customers can also fill out applications for handicap parking permits and a Department of Environmental Services right-of-way permit in this office. A City employee will be available to offer assistance. NBD staff will also be available for telephone or remote video consultations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. NUMBER REMOVED.
