ROC’N Drive-In Series Continues this Weekend with Musicals and Baseball Films

 

(Wednesday, July 22, 2020) -- The ROC’N Drive-In, pop-up drive-in movie series has been extended for two more weekends of double feature showings at the VIP Parking Lot at Frontier Field. The City will continue to partner with the Rochester Red Wings, MVP Health Care and The Cinema Theater on the temporary drive-in each weekend through August 2. 

 

 

“After an extremely successful first month, we are excited to offer another two weekends of movies for Rochesterians to enjoy,” said Mayor Lovely Warren. “Thousands of people have experienced this unique, new experience and we can’t wait to extend the series so even more people can come and have fun Downtown.”

 

The newly added dates and movies for the ROC’N Drive-In are:

 

Thursday, July 23: “Footloose” (1984) and “Purple Rain” (rescheduled from a rain out on July 16).

Fri., July 24: “Bull Durham” and “Major League”

Sat. July 25: “42” and “The Natural”

Fri. July 31: “Clerks” and “Dazed and Confused”

Sat. Aug 1: “The Wiz” and “The Goonies”

Sun., Aug 2.: Grateful Dead’s “Trucking Up the Buffalo,” filmed from a concert at Orchard Park, NY on July 4, 1989

 

A 44-ft., high-definition LED screen allows the first movie to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per car and must be purchased online. To purchase tickets and view the complete list of the drive-in’s regulations, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/rocndrivein

 

Precautions have been taken to keep the events in compliance with NYS guidelines for social distancing. Movie-goers can either sit inside of their vehicle or in a designated empty parking space adjacent to their vehicle. Concessions and restrooms will be available inside the stadium’s concourse. Everyone will be required to wear a mask when accessing the concessions and/or restrooms.
