Residents and Motorists Reminded to Adhere to Alternate Side Parking Regulations, Help Keep Sidewalks Clear

Parking Regulations to be Enforced, Snow Bound Cars Must be Moved

(Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021) — The City of Rochester is reminding residents and motorists that parking regulations will be strictly enforced today and tonight and to adhere to alternate side-parking regulations to ensure that plow operations can effectively clear the roads of snow. Residents can track City snow plows in real time by visiting: cityofrochester.gov/plowtrax.

“It is very important that citizens observe alternate side parking regulations on residential streets so plows have room to maneuver,” said Karen St. Aubin, the City’s Director of Operations. “One vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road can delay a plow run for an entire street. We have a have a clearing operation scheduled for this evening to clear the alternate sides of our roads and any snow bound cars must be moved before 8 p.m.”

Property owners are also reminded to remove snow from the sidewalk in front of their property and that it is illegal to move snow from private property onto sidewalks, roadways, fire hydrants or bus stops. Learn more at: cityofrochester.gov/sidewalkplowing.
