City Council to hold Work Sessions and Public Forums for
Executive Order 203 Plan
Next week, the
Rochester City Council will host two public forums for the community to comment
on the policing reform plan required by Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 203.
We encourage participants to review the draft plan before the sessions. The
plan can be found online here.
The public
forums will be held virtually on Wednesday March 17th and Thursday,
March 18th starting at 5:30pm. These forums will be structured
similarly to Speak to Council; those interested can sign up to participate live
via Zoom or submit written comments via email. Zoom participants will have
three minutes to speak and the first three minutes of written comments will be
read aloud by a staff member.
To sign up, participants
can either email council@cityofrochester.gov
or call 585-428-7538, and provide their first and last name, phone number,
address, and email. Only names will be shared publicly during the forum. No
explicit or derogatory language should be used. Please only sign up for one
of the two sessions.
In addition to
public forums, the City Council will hold two work sessions with the
Administration to review the submitted plan.
