News Release

(Tuesday, April 13, 2021) — The City of Rochester and Ibero-American Development Corporation announce the opening of the 2021 Market Season at The International Plaza, 828 N. Clinton Ave. The International Plaza, a new family-oriented cultural marketplace will be open from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursdays, April 15 to October 14; and 1 to 5 p.m., Sundays, April 18 to November 21.

Besides an ever changing mix of vendors representing the multi-faceted cultural mix of our community, the International Market will host several cultural and entertainment activities for all ages, featuring special programs on both Mother’s and Father’s Day, Zumba classes, storytelling for kids and the Cornell Cooperative Extension will co-host an Earth Day celebration.

Opened for an abbreviated season in the fall of 2020, the International Plaza project turned a vacant lot across from the historic St. Michael’s Church into a vibrant, colorful outdoor public space that is programmed with retail opportunities, as well as live music, dance and other cultural activities. It is located in the hub of Rochester’s Puerto Rican and Latinx community.

Mask wearing and social distancing are required in compliance with current COVID-19 guidelines to help ensure the safety of both shoppers and vendors and hand sanitizing stations will be located at the site.
