City Council to
Hold a Public Forum on the Increased Operation of ATVs, Dirt Bikes, and
Off-Road Motorized
Vehicles on City Streets
The Rochester City Council will host a public forum next
week to give community members an opportunity to voice their opinions on the
significantly increased use of dirt bikes, ATVs and similar off-road vehicles
on city streets. The forum will be held virtually from 5:30 – 7:00
p.m. on Tuesday, June 1st.
The public forum will be structured similarly to the Speak
to Council sessions that currently take place on Zoom each month.
Individuals interested in sharing their comments and concerns can sign up to participate
live via Zoom or submit written comments via email. Those choosing to
participate live will have three minutes to speak, while the first three
minutes of all written comments received through email will be read aloud by a
staff member. Participants are asked to refrain from using explicit or
derogatory language and to address the Council with the same respect they would
expect to receive.
To register for the forum, participants can either email council@cityofrochester.gov or
call 585-428-7538 no later 1 p.m. on the day of the event. Participants
will need to provide their first and last name, phone number, address and
email. Only the names of the participants will be shared publicly during
the forum.
Interested participants are also strongly encouraged to
review the proposed legislation prior to the forum. A copy of the
