and Rochester City School District

At Tuesday night’s Council Meeting, the Rochester City Council passed the City of Rochester’s FY 2021-22 proposed budget, in a vote of 5-4 with Councilmembers Malik Evans, Mitch Gruber, Mary Lupien, and Jose Peo voting in opposition.

“I am pleased that taxes will decrease by $36.05 for City homeowners, all while maintaining city services and amenities,” said Council President Loretta Scott. “I appreciate the work and the patience that the Administration has demonstrated in preparing the proposed budget for the Council in spite of the challenges associated with the pandemic this past year. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the citizens of Rochester. I am also grateful to my colleagues for their thorough and exhaustive review of the budget, one that ensures that the City will remain fiscally sound.”

The Council voted to pass the Rochester City School District FY 2021-22 Budget. The Council voted 7-1-1 with Councilmember Jose Peo voting in opposition and Councilmember LaShay Harris abstaining from the vote as an employee of the District.
