News Release - Five Star Bank Party in the Park Concert Series Returns to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park

(Thursday, July 1, 2021) - Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Five Star Bank Party in the Park concert series will return to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Downtown Rochester starting July 14. The series, produced by Rochester Events, was suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19. This year, Five Star Bank Party in the Park will continue to host a combination of popular national acts and some of the best in local and regional talent.

“These summer concerts build on Rochester’s renown for great live music and the arts. And that reputation isn’t just local—it’s international,” said Mayor Lovely Warren. “With pandemic restrictions lifting, I am thrilled our community can get out and enjoy Party in the Park once again. Live music with world-class talent is part of what makes this city a great place to live, work and play.”

Five Star Bank Party in the Park will kick off with a doubleheader Wednesday and Thursday, July 14 and 15 and will continue every Thursday through September 2. Gates will open each week at 5 p.m. and performances will begin at 5:30 p.m. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park is located at 353 Court St. This year’s full line up on the CGI Communications Stage includes:

• July 15: Dark Side of the Moon & The Seven Wonders - A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac
• July 22: Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes
• July 29: Ripe; The Nude Party
• Aug. 5: Almost Queen

• Aug. 19: Third World
• Aug. 26: Larkin Poe; Eric Krasnow
• Sept. 2: Zac Brown Tribute Band; Blue Sky Brothers

General admission tickets for Party in the Park are $7 (children 12 and under are free). VIP Ultra Lounge tickets are $45 and $55 and Season Pass Tickets (GA entry) are $49. Tickets and passes will go on sale at RochesterEvents.com at 10 a.m. on July 6.

Returning this year to Party in the Park are the MVP Health Care Family Zone, the VIP Ultra Lounge, the Craft Beer Garden, a Bubbly Bar and Bazaar in the Park. The VIP Ultra Lounge provides exclusive access to a VIP Ultra Lounge with a full cash bar, table service, private restrooms, front stage access, complimentary snacks, chair massage and a commemorative lanyard.

Craft beer lovers can enjoy the Craft Beer Garden featuring a rotating showcase of New York State’s best IPAs, ciders, stouts and more. The Bubbly Bar will also be returning with prosecco and mimosas. There will be happy hour specials at each show from 5–6:30 p.m.

Bazaar in the Park is a weekly collective of emerging designers, vintage collectors and artisanal products, creating a community around art, crafts, fashion and discovery. New sellers will arrive every other week, making Bazaar at the Park a place to consistently discover new, emerging talent and creativity.

Patrons may bring one sealed bottle of water into the Party in the Park concerts. Lawn chairs, bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates and pets will not be allowed in. In addition, a strict no-smoking policy will be enforced. Smokers must go to a designated, marked area.

In the event of extreme inclement weather, the rain location for Party in the Park concerts will be at Anthology, 336 East Ave.

Parking is available at nearby parking garages including the Washington Square Garage, 111 Woodbury Blvd.; the Court Street Garage, 194 Court St. and at the East End Garage, 475 E. Main St. Parking will also be available at The Strong, 1 Manhattan Square.
