News Release

(Thursday, July 22, 2021) - Mayor Lovely A. Warren announced today that the City of Rochester, in partnership with WXXI, has launched a series of video webisodes for novice bicyclists with insights for more seasoned bikers.

“Rochester is truly a bike-friendly community with a wide offering of scenic bike paths and routes for residents to discover and explore our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Warren. “I am grateful that we have the resources, partnerships and opportunities to showcase our bike infrastructure, encourage residents to get outdoors and discover the beauty of our great city while staying in shape. Making it easier for residents and visitors to experience our city on a bike advances our efforts to create more jobs, safer and more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities.”

“WXXI has been a producer of many documentaries that spotlight our community and we are honored to partner with the City to highlight another Rochester treasure – our biking paths and its community,” said WXXI President Norm Silverstein.

The bicycling series, ROC City Rides, highlights Rochester’s robust biking infrastructure while exploring the community’s natural beauty, rich history, parks and landmarks. Cyclists will also learn about various bike routes, as well as cycling tips to consider before hitting the trails.

ROC City Rides can be viewed on the City’s Channel 12 public access cable television channel and on the What’s Good Rochester YouTube channel.
