News Release - ROC City Biz to Conduct Free Summer TikTok Entrepreneurship Boot Camp

(Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren is calling on aspiring social media content creators ages 5 to 18 to attend the ROC City Biz TikTok Boot Camp, a free, 5-day learning opportunity to help young people increase their social media presence on the TikTok platform and potentially earn money. The boot camp will take place from 2–4 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30 through Friday, Sept. 3 at the David F. Gantt R-Center, 700 North St.

“As technology continues to change the face of our economy, it is important that we provide our young people with the skills to harness their ingenuity and help them become successful,” said Mayor Warren. “The ROC City Biz TikTok Entrepreneurship Boot Camp offers our youth the tools they need to become their own bosses and brings us closer to greater equity, more jobs, safer more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities.”

Participants will learn the basics of the TikTok app and its features, as well as techniques to expand audience. The boot camp will provide personalized advice on the business aspect of monetizing their social media channel.
