(Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021) — The perennial fall favorite, ROC the Riverway Weekend— reformatted to provide the community with a variety of opportunities to get out, experience and learn about the history and future to the Genesee in a COVID friendly manner—returns tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3.

“From the abundant farms of the Genesee Valley to the industrial heritage of the city, the Genesee River has defined who we are and how our community developed,” said Mayor Lovely Warren. “During ROC the Riverway Weekend, the City of Rochester is proud to once again join with our numerous community partners to celebrate the Genesee and its lasting legacy in our region. I invite everyone to get out and get some fresh air, forget for a minute about the challenges we face and experience our history and future.”

A variety of social distanced and self-guided hikes, guided paddles and bike rides will showcase the autumn splendor of the Genesee River corridor and provide a safe, family friendly fall adventure in the heart of our community. Enjoy a guided bike ride highlighting the City’s ambitious ROC the Riverway waterfront revitalization initiative; join a walking tour to learn how the Genesee River shaped industry in Rochester; bring your family to the Port of Rochester to enjoy Autumn at the Lake activities to include live music, pumpkin decorating and a zip line. There’s something for everyone at the 2021 Roc the Riverway Weekend!
