News Release

(Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021) – The Rochester Animal Services Center at 184 Verona St. will be closed from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15 for staff training. Pet adoption and lost and found services, which are currently being provided by appointment only, will resume at 2:30 p.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, residents can call 428-7274. The Center’s normal hours of operation are 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Mon.–Sat.

Those interested in adopting from Rochester Animal Services can visit www.cityofrochester.gov/AdoptACat or www.cityofrochester.gov/AdoptADog to view available pets and start the adoption process.

Those who find a lost pet can visit www.cityofrochester.gov/FoundAPet for guidance and a list of local sites where animals can be brought to be scanned for microchip identification. If a found pet is friendly and appears healthy, it is much more likely to be reunited with its owners if it remains in the neighborhood in which it was found and receives some help from its neighbors.
