News Release - City Announces Closures for Friday

City of Rochester

News Release

(Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022)—All City of Rochester R-Centers, City branch libraries, the Central Library Downtown and the Rochester Animal Services Center will be will be closed tomorrow due to the winter storm.

In addition, the ice rinks at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square and Genesee Valley Sports Complex as well as the Rochester Community Sports Complex will be closed.

Mayor Malik D. Evans is urging residents to adhere to the alternate-side parking regulations. These regulations are important during and after snow events -- just one car parked on the wrong side of the street can be an impediment to snow plows.

Motorists should give the plows plenty of space to do their job.

Residents can track snow plow progress in real time at www.cityofrochester.gov/plowtrax.

Residents are reminded that it is their obligation to keep the sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses clear and that it is illegal to shovel or plow snow into the street or public right of way. They are also asked to keep the fire hydrants adjacent to their properties clear.
