News Release - Community Input Sessions for Police Chief Search Continues Tomorrow

(Monday, Feb. 7, 2022) ¬- The City of Rochester will host its third virtual community input session regarding the search for a new Police Chief tomorrow, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. City residents are encouraged to attend and discuss the qualities they would value most in Rochester’s next Police Chief. Each session is dedicated to topics of concern in each quadrant of the city. Tomorrow’s session will focus on the Southwest quadrant.

The final virtual community input session and corresponding neighborhood quadrant focus will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10 (Northeast quadrant).

Registration is not required. To participate, residents can use the Zoom link at: www.cityofrochester.gov/rpdsearch.

Mayor Evans is conducting a nationwide recruitment campaign to fill the RPD Chief position, which is currently being held by interim Chief David Smith. The search is being conducted by Public Sector Search & Consulting, a national search firm focused solely on the recruitment of senior police executives. The City expects to complete the search by the end of April.
