Welcome to the web page for the Rochester Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). Here you’ll find updates on the DRI process, information on submitting a project proposal, and upcoming engagement opportunities. In December 2021, Governor Kathy Hochul awarded the City of Rochester $10 million in funding through the fifth round of the State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) designed to revitalize communities and grow the economy.
A Local Planning Committee (LPC) of municipal representatives, community leaders and other stakeholders has been formed to guide Rochester’s strategic investment plan for the funding. By July 2022, the DRI Local Planning Committee will develop
a $10 million Strategic Investment Plan for Downtown Rochester between Main
Street, Franklin Street, Andrews Street, and the Genesee River. This plan will
examine local assets and opportunities and recommend a series of economic
development, transportation, housing, and community projects for DRI funding.
These projects must be poised for implementation and help achieve the
community's vision for downtown revitalization.
