
Join us for the Flower City Flourishing Garden Contest! Gardens on private or public properties are eligible, with a primary focus on community gardening.
The last day to apply is July 13. Judging will take place the week of July 17-21. You can nominate your own garden or another’s garden by filling out the application online at cityofrochester.gov/gardencontestform/.

Community Gardens
A community garden is one that has a garden permit for a City owned lot:
- Vacant Lots
- Municipal Parkland
- Right-of-Ways
- Street Medians, etc.
This also includes private lots gardened for the benefit of the community:
- Churches
- Food Pantries
- Schools
- Libraries, etc.

Gardens will be judged on visual impact, overall design, level of maintenance, accessibility, and abundance. Enter now and get started on preparing your garden at CityofRochester.gov/GardenContestForm!
Note: Applications for gardens done by a gardening or landscape professional will not be accepted.
