City of Rochester
News Release
(Friday, May 29, 2022)—The City of Rochester’s
Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) will hold a public meeting and open
house on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 5 – 7 p.m. This event is a chance for
members of the community to learn about project proposals in the DRI area and provide
feedback about what they would like to see. After an overview presentation,
project proposal information will be available for viewing and comment in a
poster gallery format.
The meeting will be held at Monroe Community College
Downtown Campus, 321 State St., High Falls Room. Pre-registration for the
in-person meeting is encouraged but not required: https://bit.ly/3NyjEQK. Light refreshments
will be provided and free parking is available in Lot AA on Morrie Silver Way.
Participants may also attend via Zoom by registering at https://bit.ly/3LudMpS. A meeting summary and
project information will be available after the event for additional feedback
on the City’s website: www.cityofrochester.gov/DRI
By July 2022, the DRI Local Planning Committee will develop
a $10 million Strategic Investment Plan for Downtown Rochester between Main
Street, Franklin Street, Andrews Street, and the Genesee River. This plan will
examine local assets and opportunities and recommend a series of economic
development, transportation, housing, and community projects for DRI funding.
These projects must be poised for implementation and help achieve the
community's vision for downtown revitalization.
