(Friday, August 26, 2022) – The Nao Trinidad, a replica of the captain ship of what was called the Armada del Maluco (1519-1522) commanded by Ferdinand Magellan, is expected to arrive at the Port of Rochester on Friday, September 2.
The life-size
replica weighs 200 tons, is over 95 feet long, and has four masts, five sails
and five decks. This ship is sailing as a floating museum of Spanish maritime
heritage and has visited dozens of ports in Spain, Mexico, the United States
and Europe. Its 2022 tour began in Two Harbors, Minn. on August 3 and will
arrive in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Dec. 6.
While in port, the
general public may visit the ship for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Adult
tickets are $15, youth ages 5 to 12 are $5, and a family bundle is $35.
Children under 5 are free.
