City Seeks Input on Active Transportation Plan
(Wednesday, May 24, 2023) – The City of Rochester is asking residents to review
and give feedback on the final draft of its Active Transportation Plan that
kicked off last summer. “This is the City's first dedicated plan to improve
safety and accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders,” said
Mayor Malik D. Evans. “It was created with a team of engaged citizens and City
staff, and it prioritizes improvements for residents that rely on these forms
of transportation not only for exercise and entertainment but for their
livelihood and daily errands. Our primary goal with this plan and its focus on
this population is to make a bigger impact on road safety as quickly as
possible.”
A public meeting will be
held at 5:30 p.m. with an open house starting at 4:30 p.m. on June 7, 2023, at
the Kate Gleason Auditorium in the Bausch and Lomb Central Library, 115 South
Ave or via Zoom. Residents may also review the plan and submit their ideas
at www.cityofrochester.gov/atp.
All comments must be received by June 14, 2023.
