News Release

(Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023) – The final concert in the Party in the Park series, featuring headliner Lettuce and opener Joe Samba, will take place Thursday, Aug. 17, at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square, 353 Court St. downtown. Gates open at 6 p.m. and performances will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Lettuce, the iconic funk band known for their infectious grooves and a reputation for delivering high-energy performances, keeps audiences dancing all night long. Lettuce has become a favorite among festival goers and music enthusiasts nationwide. The band’s unique blend of funk, soul, jazz, and hip-hop creates a sound like no other.

Guitar slung low, microphone turned up, and emotion overflowing, Joe Samba taps into rock and roll spirit and reggae soul all at once. The Massachusetts-born singer, songwriter, and guitarist sonically teeters on an axis of island-inflected grooves and gritty guitar-craft balanced by his dynamic vocals.
