News Release

(Tuesday, June 23, 2009) - The City’s Department of Environmental Services and other members of the ARTWalk2 project team will hold two public meetings this week to obtain community input on the project.

The first meeting will include a review of the project’s history, concept plans, schedule, budget and an opportunity for members of the public to provide input. It will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow, June 24, in second floor atrium of the Village Gate shopping mall, 274 N. Goodman St.

The second meeting will be an interactive design workshop with review of the project and discussion on the location and types of art works. It will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25 in the Reidman Auditorium at the Rochester Museum and Science Center, 257 East Ave.

University Avenue from North Union Street to North Goodman Street is scheduled for reconstruction. As part of this project, extension of the ARTWalk sidewalk and art improvements are being planned.

These meetings provide an opportunity for the public to hear more about the design team’s concept plans for the project and provide input in the early stages of the design process.
