2011 Year End Crime Trend

In 2011, the City of Rochester experienced a 25-Year low in Part I crime. Part I crime consists of the crimes of murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft.  The downward trend is not an anomaly.  In fact, crime in Rochester has steadily declined for the past 25 years.  Last year, overall Part I crime declined 8.3% from the previous year.

The reduction in crime in Rochester is not attributed to a change of population. This is illustrated in the slide depicting the crime rate per 100,000 people.
