 News Release

(Friday, Nov. 20, 2015) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren invites the community to the 19th annual Holidays at the Market event series at the City of Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13.

“Holidays at the Market is a popular holiday tradition,” said Mayor Warren. “The Rochester Public Market is a great place to enjoy free family activities and support local vendors. We are proud to offer events like this as part of our efforts to create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities for our children.”

Vendors will offer a wide array of holiday-oriented goods and gifts, including trees and wreaths, decorations, specialty foods, local wines, winter clothing, toys and much more.

Kids and their families can take a free horse-drawn carriage ride with Santa around the Market grounds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each week. Kids can also enjoy free holiday cookie decorating.

The highly competitive Market Holiday Cookie Contest also returns this year. Bring a dozen of your best cookies with a copy of the recipe to the Market Office on Saturday, Dec. 12 by 3 p.m. or Sunday, Dec. 13 by 12 p.m. Judging will take place that same day.

Give the gift of the Market by purchasing Public Market gift tokens and Market-branded items such as shopping bags, hooded sweatshirts, tee-shirts, cookbooks and more. These items will be on sale in the lobby of the Market Office from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
