Meeting and Event Updates

Following the guidance of the Monroe County Department of Health Department regarding social distancing for gatherings of larger than 50 people, the following events are postponed or canceled (or their practices have been significantly altered) until further notice.

City Council Meetings

 All meetings of the Rochester City Council will be closed for public attendance until further notice. Meetings will be streamed online and public comments will be accepted remotely. Learn more>> 

Land Use Boards

All Land Use Boards scheduled for the month of April have been postponed to the following dates (pre-meeetings at 5 p.m.; public hearings at 6 p.m.): 

  •  For the Preservation Board: May 6, 2020
  •  For the Zoning Board of Appeals: May 7, 2020 and May 21, 2020
  •  For the City Planning Commission: May 11, 2020 

 Department of Recreation and Youth Services (DRYS) 

  • All R-Centers are closed and nine have been converted to grab-and-go food distribution sites for school age children. Learn more>> 
  • The Biz Kid$ camp that was scheduled to take place during Spring Break week, April 6 – 10, has been cancelled. Learn more>> 
  • The Big Band Dance Series, held in the Roger Robach Community Center at Ontario Beach Park on Wednesday evenings during the spring and summer months, has been cancelled for the month of April.  Learn more>> 
  • All sports leagues and sporting events are suspended or postponed.  
  • Permits to City lodges and ballrooms have been suspended and permits will be issued until further notice.  
  • The Genesee Valley Sports Complex and the Rochester Community Sports Complex are closed.

  • La Marketa Community Business Resource Meeting (April 20) - Cancelled 

 Central Library and Library Branches 

  • The Central Library downtown and all Rochester Public Library branches are closed to the public until further notice. 

Civil Service Exams 

 

  • Civil Service Examinations scheduled for May 16 have been postponed. All impacted candidates will be notified when exams are rescheduled. 

 

Clean Sweep Saturday

The City of Rochester has canceled this year’s Clean Sweep, which was scheduled to take place on May 9, 2020. Learn more>>
