2019 Event Schedule

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month each year, Mayor Lovely A. Warren and the City’s Hispanic Heritage Committee host a month-long program of events to celebrate the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched the Rochester community.

Market Days at International Plaza 
• Thursday, September 12, 5-8 p.m.

Nuestra Cultura en Arte
• Friday, September 13
• City Hall Link Gallery, 30 Church St., Free Event

View unique and eclectic art created by local artists at this meet and great event. The exhibit is inspired by Hispanic Heritage Month and is expected to lure art lovers from all over Rochester!

Expresiones de Cultura
• Friday, September 20, 6-8:30 p.m.
• David F. Gantt R-Center, 700 North St., Free Event

In Collaboration with the Afro-Latino Dance Group. This dance workshop will introduce you to a traditional Puerto Rican dance called "Bomba". 

Roc'n Ritmo - Featuring Tito Rojas
Saturday, September 21, 5-10 p.m.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, 353 Court Street, Tickets are $7.00. Limited VIP tickets available at $25. Children 12 and under are free.

A new family friendly event with music, food, and lots of Latin culture!

Honoring our Abuelitos
Friday, October  4, 6-8 p.m.
• Edgerton Stardust Ballroom, 41 Backus St., Free Event

Join us in recognizing our “Abuelitos” for the sacrifices, wisdom and unconditional love they have shown us. Enjoy live music, Spanish cuisine and the crowning of the 2019 Abuelito and Abuelita of the year!

Noche de Baile - Featuring Hector Tricoche
• Saturday, October 12, 8 p.m.-2 a.m.
• The Avalon, 470 State St., Tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the door

A night of dancing with live music and one of your favorite DJs in Rochester.  Limited seating available.

Health and Wellness/Salud y Bienestar - Blood Drive
• Thursday, October 21, 2-7 p.m.
• Salvation Army, 915 N. Clinton Ave., Free Event

This event is in collaboration with the Latino Rotary Club.  We want to help with the blood supply shortage that so many Latinos are in need of throughout the year.  Please come down and donate.  Some refreshments will be available.

The Hispanic Heritage Committee is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating events in the city of Rochester that will promote cultural enrichment and awareness.  We take pride in recognizing the positive and historic contributions made by Latinos to the city of Rochester, our country and to the world.
