Swimming Lessons

The City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation encourages all city youth and adults to become skilled swimmers and seize the opportunity to enjoy the water.

Through its Swim Academy, the City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation offers free youth swim lessons throughout the year. Adult lessons are offered as well, as is Lifeguarding Training each spring (Mike.Corey@cityofrochester.gov for more information).   

Programs & Offerings:

Swim Team Rapids:  
 Rochester Rapids Swim Team is committed to developing a culture of life-long involvement in swimming by providing youth in and around the City of Rochester the finest opportunities for competition and community involvement through the sport of swimming.  

 Summer Swim Academy: 
 Swim Academy offers Free  swim lessons at six different skill levels for youth 6-17. Jackson R Center Mon-Thurs. Levels 1 & 3 9:00 am, Levels 2 & 4 9:30 am, and levels 5 & 6 10:00 am.   Session 2 Aug 1st-18th. Register on the new R-Central online. Registration is limited and opens July 11th.

Adult Swim Lessons:

Wednesday Nights at 5:45-6:30 p.m. at  Trenton & Pamela Jackson R-Center pool.  Register on the new R-Central on-line .  Cost is $24 for the six week session. Registration opens June 20th and space is limited. Classes held  July 13th-August 17th.

Baby and Me Swim 

 Wednesday Nights at 5:00-5:30 p.m. at  Trenton & Pamela Jackson R-Center pool.  Register on the new R-Center on-line . Registration open June 20th.   Classes held  July 13th-August 17th
