West Main Street to Troup Street Trail Connection
About the Project
The Susan B. Anthony Trail project created a much needed pedestrian connection between Troup Street Park in the Changing of the Scenes Neighborhood and West Main Street. The trail will also serve as a connection between the Heritage Trail and the future Troup Street Trail.

1872
The north end of the trail features Pepsy Kettavong's “1872” monument of a locked ballot box marking the location where Susan B. Anthony and 14 other women voted in the 1872 presidential election, 48 year before the ratification of the 19th amendment to the US Constitution which finally gave women the right to vote. The pillars on either side of the ballot box signify the pillars of store front that served as the polling station that day. An interpretive sign and plaque along with benches and plantings also part of the site.
