Flower City Days at The Market are a paradise for novice and experienced gardeners who want to cultivate gardens guaranteed to earn them bragging rights.

Smart gardeners wait until the Flower City Days At The Market at the Rochester Public Market each spring because they know they will get the best variety and prices on plantings and garden accessories. Over 250 local nurseries and growers put their best stock up for sale at the Market. It is without question the greatest array of garden stock and supplies that can be found in all of Western New York. Master Gardener Sessions

Is something bugging your buds? Be prepared to have all of your garden questions answered by the experts from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County. Master Gardeners will be on hand each Sunday during the sale to help anyone with a garden issue. Customers are free to bring in a sample of any plant for a free diagnosis. Gardeners interested in using more organic growing methods can get unique ideas for pesticide free growing. Ever consider using worm castings as a fertilizer? This could be the year to try something new and you can find it at Flower City Days at the Market.

Garden Materials Recycling Program Flower-Days-1

Customers can bring their used garden containers and flats to the green recycle center at the Market office, or visit the recycling center and take as many containers as they need. This "give and take" process results helps marketers build a truly green community in the Rochester area.

“We're all trying to be more responsible stewards of our environment,” says Recreation and Youth Services Commissioner, Luis Burgos. “Our highly successful recycling program keeps plastic garden pots, flats and discarded planters out of our landfills."

Vendors are sought for the Flower City Days at the Market. You can pick up an application form at the Market Office, or download a vendor application form here. Return completed forms by mail to 280 N. Union Street, 14609; in person to the Market Office; or by email to pmarket@cityofrochester.gov.
