Motorist Advisory - Flower City Challenge to Alter Several Traffic Patterns Saturday

Motorist Advisory



(Thursday, April 25, 2019) – The Half Marathon and 5K races associated with the Rochester Regional Health System Flower City Challenge will impact traffic on the morning of Sunday, April 28.

The race will take runners through various city neighborhoods. These streets will be closed until the final runner leaves the area and will re-open as soon as possible after that time:

6 p.m. Saturday to 1 p.m. Sunday- Broad Street Bridge closed to all Traffic.
7:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Court Street and Broad Street Bridges closed to all traffic.
7:15 to 9 a.m. - Race begins on the Broad Street Bridge and proceeds to West Main Street to Madison Street to Brown Street to Morrie Silver Way to State Street to East Main Street.
7:45 to 9 a.m. - East Main Street from State Street to East Avenue, East Avenue to Pitkin Street, to Broad Street, to East Avenue, to Argyle Street, to Park Avenue, to South Goodman Street.
7:45 to 9 a.m. – South Avenue from Main Street to Court Street.
8 to 10 a.m. - South Goodman Street from Park Avenue to Pinetum Drive. (Exit 17 from I-490 will be closed.)
8 to 11 a.m. - Pinetum Drive from South Goodman Street to Doctors Street, to Mount Vernon Avenue, to Alpine Street, cross South Avenue, Robinson Drive from South Avenue to Mount Hope Avenue, through Mount Hope Cemetery to the River Path along Wilson Boulevard, to the Ford Street Bridge.
8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Exchange Boulevard from Ford Street to West Broad Street.

The following intersections will not be closed but will experience delays:
• South Plymouth Avenue at West Broad Street.
• Exit 13 from I-490 will be directed south on Brown Street.
• State Street between Brown Street and Church Street will allow northbound traffic only.
• South Clinton Avenue at East Main Street.
• Chestnut Street at East Avenue.
• Scio Street at East Avenue.
• Pitkin Street at East Avenue.
• Alexander Street at East Avenue.
• Street Crossings at Park Avenue.
• Harvard Street at South Goodman Street.
• Monroe Avenue at Goodman Street.
• South Clinton Avenue at South Goodman (Access to Route I-490 E only).
• South Avenue at Alpine Street/Robinson Drive.
• Mt. Hope Avenue at Robinson Drive.
• Wilson Boulevard at Elmwood Avenue (access to and from Wilson Boulevard from Elmwood Avenue during peak runner times will be restricted. Use Intercampus Drive, Ford Street or McLean Street.)

All times are approximate. Local residential traffic will be delayed but accommodated.
