News Release - DRYS Roc Paint Division Offers Free Activity Coloring Book for Youth and Families

City of Rochester News Release

(Friday, April 17, 2020) – The City’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services, through its Roc Paint Division Youth Mural Arts Program, has created an art activity coloring book for youth and families to enjoy.

Created in 2015, the Roc Paint Division program seeks to beautify the City’s R-Centers, libraries and public spaces through mural arts. The program also provides employment and training opportunities to young, developing artists.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Roc Paint program has been unable to work on public mural art projects. Instead, the Roc Paint team has shifted its focus to creating art activities that can be shared with youth and families in our community.

The Roc Paint Division consists of fourteen youth members and three adult staff who have all contributed illustrations to the coloring book. The Roc Paint team hopes that the coloring book will provide youth with an enjoyable activity while at home and will also serve as a reminder that even when physically apart, we can still make something beautiful together.

Downloads of the coloring book are available at https://rocpaintdivision.wordpress.com/roc-paint-division-coloring-book/. Additionally, while supplies last, copies of the book will be available for pick up from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, at the following nine R-Centers that currently serve as meal distribution sites:

• Adams Street, 85 Adams St.
