City of Rochester
News Release
(Tuesday, Mar. 8,
2022) – Mayor Malik D. Evans yesterday hosted the 2022 REJob 2.0 Training
Program Graduation Ceremony.
Thanks to a $200,000 grant from the EPA, the City will be
able to bring 60 new individuals into the program and continue their work for
another three years.
“We have to invest in our people to make sure all of our
citizens have access to the jobs we are creating, and we’re doing it with
programs like this one,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans.
The REJob 2.0 Training Program is a tuition-free,
comprehensive, multi-partner effort designed to steer dislocated workers and
unemployed individuals to sustainable, long-term employment in the general
construction fields. A goal of the program is to make sure citizens who reside
in the City of Rochester share in the economic benefits derived from brownfield
redevelopment.
