News Release — Ghouls, Goblins and Superheroes to Attend Halloween at the Market Sunday Evening

City of Rochester

News Release

Attention editors: Excellent pre-Halloween photo opportunity of children in costumes.

Thousands of costumed children and their families will gather at the City of Rochester Public Market Sunday to participate in the annual Halloween at the Market holiday event. News crews will have an opportunity to get an early look at this Halloween season’s most popular costumes.

The annual Halloween at the Market offers a fun alternative to traditional trick-or-treating or an extra opportunity for children to show off their costumes while enjoying the excitement of the season with their family and friends. Last year’s event drew an estimated 5,000 children and 1,500 adults.

This year’s Halloween at the Market features trick-or-treating, theater and musical performances, arts and crafts, hayrides throughout the market, interactive games, photo booths and much more. Food and drink vendors will be onsite, as well.

Date: Sunday, Oct. 29. 2023

Time: Event hours are 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Attendance is expected to peak between 5 and 5:30 p.m.

Location: Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union St

Contact: Press Officer Carlet Cleare at Carlet.Cleare@cityofrochester.gov. Crews on scene should ask to speak to Market Director James Farr.
