(Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010) – Neighborhood and Business Development Commissioner R. Carlos Carballada and City Councilman Dana Miller joined owners Wayne Hobbs and Shawn Larkin today to cut a ceremonial ribbon celebrating the grand opening of Trinities Restaurant at 36 W. Main St. in downtown Rochester.

Trinities Restaurant offers both authentic Southern and Caribbean cooking. Breakfast offerings include everything from eggs, pancakes, biscuits and grits to bacon, sausage, salmon patties, country fried steaks and grilled country ham steaks. The lunch and dinner menus consist of pulled pork, fried or barbeque chicken, ribs, oxtails, curry or jerk chicken and Friday fish fry. Sides include collard greens, southern style baked beans, mac & cheese, southern style fried corn, lima beans, fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes and corn bread. For dessert, you can top it off with a piece of sweet potato pie.

Both Mr. Hobbs and Mr. Larkin are experienced cooks. Wayne Hobbs, a master wood-worker and ex-Kodak engineer, has been cooking and catering for local church groups for over 40 years. Shawn Larkin has also been cooking for 40 years, starting out as a Navy cook.  Both were inspired by the everyday family cooking they grew up with.

The owners have invested $70,000 of their own funds in opening Trinities. The opening of the restaurant has created 14 jobs, 10 of which are held by city residents.

Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
