(Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren, State Sen. Joseph Robach and City Councilmember Elaine Spaull joined business co-owner Louie Maier today to celebrate the grand opening of Locals Only, a restaurant in Rochester’s East End entertainment district.

“The opening of Locals Only, an all-day restaurant in the heart of one of Rochester’s most successful evening entertainment districts, represents the next phase in the transformation of our commercial landscape,” said Mayor Warren. “Changes taking place in the Center City, the Inner Loop East and all across the city are creating new opportunities and new markets for entrepreneurs to succeed morning, noon and night. I want to thank Louie and Gaetano, and their team at Locals Only for investing in Rochester and being part of our efforts to create more jobs, safer/more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities.”

“We are excited to bring Locals Only and its west coast concept to Rochester’s East End,” said Co-owner Louie Maier. “We believe the success of Locals Only and the success of Rochester go hand in hand, which is why we are so passionate about joining the community and supporting its growth. We are looking forward to becoming a part of the Rochester story.”

Locals Only, 311 Alexander St., is owned by Maier and co-owner Gaetano Abbate. The restaurant operates under the motto “open daily 8 to late,” which describes a business model that extends from early mornings to late evenings with coffee, cocktails and a daily brunch and dinner menu.

Mr. Maier first saw the concept on a visit to Scottsdale, AZ and thought it could be successful in Rochester’s evolving entertainment scene.

Locals Only employs 15 workers and expects to hire five additional workers within three years. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays; and 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
