Local Planning Committee to Conduct Virtual Meetings

Public Invited to Attend, Make Comments at 1st Meeting Tomorrow

(Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022) – The City of Rochester, in partnership with the N.Y. State Dept. of State, Empire State Development and other State agencies, has begun its planning efforts to select the projects that will be included in Rochester’s $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) award that Governor Kathy Hochul announced in December. This round of DRI funding will focus on the transformation of the area along and adjacent to the north side of Main Street from North Clinton Avenue to the Genesee River.

A Local Planning Committee (LPC) of municipal representatives, community leaders and other stakeholders has been formed to develop the strategic investment plan for the funding. The LPC’s first virtual meeting will take place, 5 to 7 p.m., tomorrow, Wednesday, February 16.

The public is invited to attend this, and all future LPC meetings. The first 15 minutes of every meeting will be set aside for community members to provide input on the ongoing planning effort.
