Applications Open for Rochester Community University
(Friday,
April 14, 2023) – Mayor Malik D.
Evans announced today that applications are open for the next cohort of
Rochester Community University. The program helps city residents learn how to
advocate for themselves and their neighborhoods.
“We
know that knowledge is power, and Rochester Community University gets residents
up to speed on resources the City has available so that they can better
advocate for themselves and their neighbors,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans.
“Empowering city residents is one of the keys to creating a city that prospers
and thrives.”
Administered
by the City’s Neighborhood Service Centers in partnership with the Bureau of
Planning, the Rochester Community University allows participants to develop and
refine their civic-engagement skills. Topic areas include City of Rochester
101; Buy The Block; RPD Community Engagement; The 411 on 311; Animal Services,
and YOU!
The
program’s sessions take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, May 11 to June 8,
and are conducted via Zoom. Full course details and schedule can be found at www.cityofrochester.gov/community-university
