Committee meetings take place in the
City Council Chambers, City Hall, 30 Church Street, Room 302-A.
City Council committees generally meet
on the 2nd Wednesday and Thursday of each month. The primary
function of these committees is to review all proposed legislation and to
recommend adoption, consideration, or rejection by the entire Council, either
as written or with amendments.
City Council committees are
scheduled to meet as follows:
Day 1 (generally 2nd Wednesday of the Month):
- Neighborhoods, Jobs & Housing (Michael Patterson -
chair) – 4:00 p.m.
- People, Parks & Public Works (LaShay Harris - chair)
– 4:30 p.m.
Day 2 (generally 2nd Thursday of the Month):
- Budget, Finance & Governance (Mitch Gruber - chair)
- 4:00 p.m.
- Public Safety (Willie Lightfoot - chair) – 4:30 p.m.
When necessary, the Committee of the
Whole will convene to review legislation that falls within its purview. The Committee of the Whole will meet on Day 2
of the schedule when required.
For the month of January, committee meetings for the Neighborhoods,
Jobs & Housing Committee and the People, Parks & Public Works Committee will take place on Wednesday,
January 10, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively.
