Library Profile

The Lincoln Branch Library opened in May, 1994 on the site of a former factory. The one-story, renovated structure is approximately 11,800 square feet, housing a bright and spacious Children's Room, a comfortably furnished "Teen Spot" for youth aged 13 -17 and the Toy Library. The Lincoln Branch serves a population of approximately 25,000. The building is handicapped accessible. Two parking lots are available: one in front of the building, another across Avenue D.

The Toy Library has around 5,000 toys appropriate for children ages 0-9. Every item in the collection has been specially selected for quality and safety to support the cognitive, creative, social-emotional, perceptual, and physical developmental needs of children. Toys for children with special needs are also available at the Toy Library.

The library works closely with neighborhood groups and agencies, as well as area daycare, elementary and secondary schools to enrich play experiences between children and their caregivers.

The Lincoln Branch Library is a member of the Monroe County Library System

Drop-In Story Hour (Monday, 10:30 a.m.) Are you looking for a fun and educational activity for a Preschool-aged child? Come join us at the Lincoln Branch Library for Drop-In Story Hour, where a Lincoln librarian will read age-appropriate stories aloud for the enjoyment of children and their parents or guardians alike.

After-School Homework Help (Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m.) Would you like your elementary-to-high school aged student to receive help with his or her homework and assignments? Have the student come down to the Lincoln Branch Library, where our friendly and knowledgeable librarians will help them with tough math assignments, social studies research, or any other class with which they need a little extra help.

Weekend Homework Help (Saturday 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.) Does your child need a little extra help with his or her school assignments?  The Lincoln Branch librarians offer free homework assistance on Saturdays for Rochester-area students of any age and in any subject.
