Elevator Examining Board

This nine-member board's primary responsibility is the interpretation of Chapter 50 of the Municipal Code, concerning elevators, escalators, and other conveyances, and maintaining the City licensing system for elevator inspectors as well as a registration system for installation / maintenance companies.

Members must be residents of Monroe County and include: 1 commercially oriented architect registered in the State of New York; 3 who work in the elevator industry; 1 representative from a liability insurance company; 1 representative of the local elevator construction union; 1 licensed elevator inspector and 2 building owners.
