(Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010) – Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s audit of the Rochester City School District says it all. Sadly, this is not news to any of us in Rochester.
There is no doubt that the resistance to the school governance proposal is directly tied to those who are benefiting from the system that the Comptroller criticized in his audit. I understand why some would fear a governance change as the City’s oversight of City School District finances would upset the status quo and shut down a financial pipeline that far too many adults and far too few children benefit from.
