News Release - Neighborhood and Business Development to Host Informational Meeting on Josh Lofton Building

(Tuesday, May 25, 2010) – Representatives from the Department of Neighborhood and Business Development will hold an informational meeting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26 for developers interested in redeveloping the Josh Lofton Alternative Education Center, 242 W. Main St. The Department issued a Request for Proposals last week seeking a qualified developer for the project.

The meeting will take place in room 223B of City Hall, 30 Church St.

This 52,000 square foot building is located on the western edge of the Central Business District and amongst numerous historic industrial buildings. Many of these buildings have been converted into mixed-use commercial and residential properties.
