The Office of Employment Opportunities, a bureau within the Department of Recreation and Youth Services, provides services for employment readiness and job placement to youth and adults. The Office, working with area colleges, unions and employers aims to provide employment readiness training and services to city residents who may be unemployed, under-employed or returning from incarceration. In addition, the bureau oversees Pathways to Peace, a youth violence and gang intervention team which channels young city residents toward an array of community resources to prevent youth violence.
